Shabbat walk in the park
Please join us for a Shabbat afternoon walk - a traditional and delightful way to enjoy Shabbat in nature. We will gather at a nearby forest preserve and walk about two miles on trails. Walks will be led by temple member/former Chicago Tribune outdoors columnist Barbara Brotman.
April 27
Miller Meadow-South, near Forest Park. Meet in parking lot; the entrance is on the east side of First Avenue south of Roosevelt Road. We will walk the 1.7 mile loop.
Explore and enjoy this walk together, Barbara will not be able to attend.
May 25 (Memorial Day weekend)
The 606 Trail
Meet downstairs at West Trailhead access point, Lawndale north of Wabansia. Street parking.
June 22
Danada Equestrian Center, Wheaton
Enter on the east side of Naperville Road 1 mile south of Butterfield Road (Route 56) and 0.75 mile north of I-88. Meet at the north end of the parking lot, by the buildings.
July 27
Grand Army of the Republic Woods, River Forest
This Cook County Forest Preserve south of Thatcher Woods is crisscrossed with unmarked trails and pleasantly wild-feeling - and super close!
Meet at the corner of Washington Blvd. and Thatcher Ave. Park on Thatcher. The entrance to the woods is on Washington west of Thatcher.
Aug. 17
Des Plaines River Trail
Evans Field, Thatcher Ave. and W. Bloomingdale Ave., River Grove - just north of Russell's Barbecue. Meet in the parking lot, at the farthest end - the circular area at the end of the lot.
