OPT IN for Oak Park Temple

Oak Park Temple Caring Community

The Caring Community is an opportunity to strengthen our ties to one another  by offering and receiving comfort, support and help.

We are made up of volunteers who are here to assist our Temple members as needed. Our activities include:

  • Preparing homes for shiva (bereavement visitations) after a loss.
  • Driving people to appointments and to Shabbat Services
  • Visiting the sick, sending meals to homes, grocery shopping
  • Matching mentors to those going through life changes

You can help us by letting us know when you or someone you know needs help and could benefit from any of these services, and/or by signing up for our volunteer list so you can be notified when help is needed, and then agreeing to help when you are available.

Please email caring@oakparktemple.org or call the Temple office at 708-386-3937.

Special Message of Gratitude from the New Caring Community Committee Leaders

We want to extend our thanks to Ali Mandell, Karen Gillett, Maurie Stern and Meg Ross for their years of thoughtful leadership and tireless giving through the Oak Park Caring Committee, Ozerim and more! We greatly appreciate all you have done as well as the honor and trust you have bestowed onto us as the new leaders.

How can we help?

Please know that your synagogue community is always here to support your emotional, spiritual and physical needs to the extent that we are able.
Do you need assistance?
Let us know your needs.

For example:
I am unable to get out and I would like a meal delivered
I would like someone to grocery shop for me
I would like a visit

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to help.

Sincerely,
The Oak Park Temple Caring Community
